In 1947, a student body, NEFA-SU (North-East Frontier Agency Students Union), was established, and later, in 1974, it was renamed as AAPSU. The abbreviation of AAPSU stands for All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union. which is one of the first and oldest student unions in Arunachal Pradesh.
