The Department of Posts is planning to engage around 100(0ne hundred) eligible and willing applicants as FIELD OFFICERS (PLI/RPLI) & DIRECT AGENTS (PLI/RPU) in Arunachal Pradesh Postal Division for promoting Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance business in Arunachal Pradesh. The eligibility conditions, selection method, other conditions, duties and responsibilities, and the present rate of commission admissible (revisable from time to time) for the works are as under:

Eligibility: – Any retired Central/State Govt official including Group A/Group B Offices. Age Limit: – Can apply till he/she attains 65 years of Age. Field Officer who has passed the licentiate examination shall be retained till 75 years of age, if otherwise eligible. | Eligibility: – Any person/candidate who has passed the 10th Standard Exam from a Recognized Govt Board of Central/State Government Exam and eligible for engagement by the Government. Any Unemployed/Self-employed youth, Mahila Mandal Workers, Ex life advisors/Ex-Agents or any insurance company, Ex-Servicemen, Anganwadi workers, SHGS, Retired School Teachers, Gram Pradhan member, Members of Gram Panchayat with 10th Standard qualification can attend the ‘Walk-in-interview’ along with the application form and other required certificates and documents. Age Umit: – Minimum 18 years and Maximum 50 years on the date of “Walk-In interview”. Direct Agent who has passed the licentiate Examination shall be retained till 65 years of age, if otherwise eligible. |
Method of Selection:
The willing and eligible person will attend “Walk-in-interview” before the interview board along-with the application form and required certificates. The interview will include questions on knowledge of the life insurance industry in India, knowledge of PLI/RPLI products. Short-listing and selection of candidates will be purely on the basis of their performance In the “Walk-in-interview”.
Security Deposit:
The selected Field Officer/Direct Agent will be required to furnish cash security of Rs.5000/- in the form of the National Savings Certificate (NSC)/ Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP), which will be released on termination of the engagement.
Training:
The selected candidates have to undergo 03(Three) days in-house training on PLI/RPLI products & 03(Three) days of practical training at the PLI-Central Processing Centre, Itanagar Head Post Office.
Ucentlate Examination:
The selected candidates should clear the licentiate Examination as approved by the Department, within 3(Three) years of engagement; and the requisite exam fee shall be deposited by the candidate.
Training:
The selected candidates have to undergo 03(Three) days in-house training on PLI/RPLI products & 03(Three) days of practical training at the PLI-Central Processing Centre, Itanagar Head Post Office.

License fee:
A selected Field Officer/Direct Agent will be required to deposit a fee of Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty) only for a provisional license. The fee for a permanent license is Rs. 100/- which will be issued after the qualifying Licentiate Exam. Fee for duplicate license & renewal license is Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty) only. A Permanent Licence is valid for 05(Five) years, and failure to renew the license within its validity will result in the termination of the engagement.
TA/DA:
No TA/DA shall be admissible to the Field Officer/Director Agent for the procurement of PLI/RPLI Business. No TA/DA will be paid for the walk-in-interview.
Payment of Commission:
The Procurement or renewal commission for the PLI/RPLI business is procured by the Field Officer and the Direct Agent will be sanctioned at the rate prescribed by the Department of Posts from time to time by the competent authority, and no procurement/renewal incentive on the policies procured earlier will be payable after the termination of the license. The current rate of procurement incentive (new business) for PLI ranges from 4% to 20% of the first year premium income, depending upon the Plan and Term; and, renewal incentive is 1% of renewal premium. The current rate of procurement incentive (new business) for RPLI is 10% of the procurement premium; and, the renewal incentive is 2.5% of renewal premium.
